In our ever changing work of technology we hope to encourage children to be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology. The skills that they will be covered include:
- understanding and applying the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation
- analysing problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems
- valuating and applying information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems
- are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.
Computers are, as far as possible, incorporated into every curriculum area so that it becomes a working tool in the classroom and its application arises naturally through classroom activities. We work with parents keeping them updated about how to help children stay safe online.
Children are taught French using KAPOW resources. They start learning this in Year 3 and then progress through the scheme throughout KS2.
