Head’s Blog – 21st January 2022
A rather cold Welly Walk this week. Oak class took the magnifying glasses with them as they have been looking at pictures on Explorify which had been zoomed in as close as possible. Oak class had great fun trying to work out what the images were and used Welly Walk as an opportunity to explore our local environment in the same way.
KS2 children have been improving their ability to work scientifically. Years 3 and 4 have been investigating the different poles on a magnet, as well as what is magnetic. Whereas Year 5 and 6 have been investigating the resistance of different shapes in water. A huge thank you to Five Acres High school who lent us their cylinders, beakers and plasticine to enable us to carry out this learning.
Years 3 and 4 have been investigation how gears work with some new equipment we have in school. This follows on from the levers that they have been creating in Design Technology. They loved it!
